Hi everyone! We’re so excited to share this kitchen design with you. We filmed a Home Tour Vlog recently and absolutely loved the kitchen so we thought we would show you around the brand-new kitchen.

We had a chance to tour a custom 2,400 sq ft ranch in Bull Valley, Illinois, built by US Shelter Homes in a modern farmhouse style. The kitchen was one of the spaces we thought was extremely well designed.

The Dramatic First Impression: Vaulted Ceilings & Exposed Beams

The moment you step into the kitchen, your eyes go straight up. The vaulted ceiling with beautiful exposed beams gives the whole space such wonderful character and openness. The beams continue into the great room, making the entire main living area feel connected and airy. It’s one of those “wow” features that makes the kitchen feel special every single day.

The Oversized Island

This island is the true heart of the kitchen. They went with a quartzite countertop because they wanted something durable that would also look stunning — and the natural veining did not disappoint. It’s warm, elegant, and feels completely unique. The island itself is fully finished like a piece of furniture, with a warm stain and beautiful paneling on the base.

Clean Lines & Thoughtful Details

Around the perimeter they chose crisp white cabinets paired with black matte hardware. The contrast is classic modern farmhouse and makes the space feel bright and fresh.

Instead of a stainless range hood, they opted for a separate hood finished to match the cabinetry in painted white. It looks so much more integrated and high-end.

Underneath sits the Wolf range — a dream to cook on. On the other side of the kitchen, the Sub-Zero refrigerator is paired with a dedicated coffee station complete with its own faucet. Morning routines just got a whole lot better.

Right next to the entrance to our four-season room, they installed a beverage fridge in drawer format. It’s incredibly convenient for grabbing drinks, especially when we’re entertaining or when the kids are running in and out from the seasonal room.

The Dream Pantry

No kitchen is complete without great storage, and the large walk-in pantry delivers in a big way. It features butcher block countertops, tons of cabinetry, and open shelving. The homeowner can easily store small appliances, bulk items, and all our everyday essentials while keeping everything looking tidy and beautiful.

Why These Features Feel “Viral” (Because They Actually Work)

A lot of the details they chose have been popular in kitchen design lately — and for good reason:

  • Quartzite countertops — timeless beauty + serious durability

  • Black matte fixtures & hardware — modern contrast against white cabinets

  • Pot filler — practical luxury we didn’t know we needed

  • Separate painted range hood — clean, custom look

  • Beverage drawers + coffee station — everyday convenience

  • Spacious walk-in pantry — the ultimate organizer’s dream

What’s your favorite part of the kitchen? The oversized island? The pantry? The black matte details? Let us know in the comments — we’d love to hear!
