New Lenox has great access to highways, including both I-80 and I-355. Midway airport is approximately a 30-minute car ride from the center of New Lenox. O’hare is 45 minutes and Chicago’s Loop is only 47 minutes.
Rail service is also convenient. Two Metra commuter train lines provide New Lenox with more than 25 daily trains to Chicago. The Rock Island Line can take you to Chicago’s LaSalle Street Station, while the Southwest Service Line takes you to Union Station.

The New Lenox Park District oversees 35 parks and The Sanctuary, an 18-hole championship golf course. In addition, the Park District offers more than 300 educational programs, athletics, fitness, special events, sports leagues, travel excursions, and camp programs.
The Will County Forest Preserve District maintains the beautiful Old Plank Trail, a 21-mile path that meanders its way through New Lenox. The District also has three preserves in New Lenox: Hickory Creek/Hickory Barrens Preserve, Potawatomi Woods Preserve, and Hadley Valley Preserve.
